To effectively implement the defense measures against Typhoon No. 13th, Bebinca, and to ensure the safety of both employees and assets of the shipyard, a work deployment meeting was convened on September 15th by CEO Songkang Xia. The meeting was attended by the headquarters’ leadership and department heads.
Vice President, Wang Junting, first reported on the current status and projected path of Bebinca. He also provided an overview of the preparedness measures for the berths and docks at present, along with suggestions for further actions to enhance our response efforts.
CEO, Songkang Xia emphasized that the current typhoon coincides with a period of astronomical tides, which will have a severe impact on our shipyard and the surrounding marine areas. It presents an extremely challenging test for our preventive efforts. We must strictly implement the flood control and typhoon prevention principles set forth by the district government. First, we need to place great importance on this issue in our minds, maintaining heightened vigilance to decisively overcome complacency and any sense of false security. Through scientific preventive measures, we should be fully prepared and correctly recognize the uncertainties associated with the typhoon’s path while meticulously carrying out all necessary preventive work. Second, it is essential to implement multiple measures to effectively face the “pre-festivalchallenge”(Mid-Autumn Festival on 17th). Focus should be placed on dynamically monitoring and controlling facilities and equipment such as unpowered vessels, gantry cranes, and tower cranes. Strengthening the anchoring devices against wind for these installations will help weave a robust safety net against strong wind and heave rain. Our goal is to minimize potential losses caused by the typhoon while ensuring the safety of both equipment and personnel during such events.Third, we must enhance the duty roster arrangements for emergency response teams along with logistical support, dedicating all efforts to ensure effective typhoon defensive operations.
In light of the potential severe impacts posed by Bebinca, all members of the shipyard will unite in their efforts to meticulously implement detailed measures for prevention and control. We are fully committed to reinforcing our safety defenses.
