On August 2, the company received another call from the Three-Prevention Command Center of the Liuheng Management Committee. The only general‑purpose supermarket on Fodu Island was about to run out of its fresh food supplies, but due to the impact of Typhoon No. 6 “Khanun” this year, the ferry route between Sha’an and Fodu had been suspended as of the morning of July 31. In order to do everything possible to ensure that the people of Fodu had access to food, the Three-Prevention Command Center of the Liuheng Management Committee once again contacted our company, requesting that we dispatch a tugboat to assist with the transfer of supplies.
After receiving the request for assistance, the company expressed its willingness to provide tugboat services for the transport of essential supplies free of charge and assigned the tugboat Xinya Qianjin to carry out this transport mission.
At 4:00 p.m. on August 2, the tugboat “Xinya Qianjin,” loaded with 700 jin of fresh vegetables, 300 jin of meat and seafood, set sail from the company’s dock bound for Fodu. Forty minutes later, the “Xinya Qianjin” slowly pulled into the Fodu Passenger Terminal, once again successfully completing its emergency mission.
