Affected by Typhoon No. 11 “Hinnamnor,” on the evening of September 3, 2022, Company General Manager Xia Songkang chaired a meeting on typhoon defense for “Hinnamnor,” where he outlined and implemented various typhoon prevention and response measures. Heads of all departments attended the typhoon defense meeting and each reported on their respective typhoon prevention and response efforts.

The meeting established a leading group for typhoon prevention and control, with General Manager Xia Songkang serving as the overall commander, and proceeded to deploy and implement all relevant typhoon prevention and control measures.

General Manager Xia Songkang pointed out at the meeting that, Typhoon “Hinnamnor” is raging with tremendous force, covering a vast area, lasting an extended period, and presenting a complex and severe situation. With a large number of vessels stationed at the plant, all departments must take this extremely seriously and avoid any sense of侥幸 or complacency. We must devise more comprehensive typhoon prevention measures and implement them more rigorously, with particular emphasis on ensuring that non-powered vessels are properly prepared to withstand the storm.

General Manager Xia Songkang emphasized:

1. In typhoon prevention efforts, we must unify our thinking, strengthen overall coordination and planning, ensure that all preventive measures are in place, and leave no blind spots unattended.

2. For non-powered vessels, a “one-vessel, one‑plan” approach must be adopted. Thorough measures should be taken to reinforce and protect non-powered vessels berthed at the dock against collisions. Each chief management team must strengthen oversight and control over non-powered vessels to ensure their safety.

3. We must strengthen typhoon prevention efforts for ongoing construction projects, ensuring that facilities and equipment are properly reinforced and that measures such as personnel relocation and resettlement are fully implemented.

4. While all departments and work areas are reinforcing the safety of factory buildings, trees, and other structures, they must also arrange for adequate typhoon preparedness personnel, strengthen 24-hour duty and patrol schedules, and be ready to respond to emergencies.
