Eighteen years have passed, and with the changing times, we remain true to our original aspiration as we set out once more. On September 26, the company organized an event themed… “Times change, but our original aspiration remains.” The “China Xinya 2020 Tibet Trip” event, themed around [topic], has kicked off, with 56 participants attending, including senior company leaders, heads of various departments, specially invited outstanding employees, and representatives from external contractor teams.

Eighteen years have seen the world transform and the stars shift, with time flowing like a beautiful song; eighteen years of relentless striving and unwavering progress have forged remarkable achievements. Through 18 years of steady accumulation and deep cultivation, the people of Xinya have risen to the top of China’s private ship repair enterprises as a leading player in the domestic ship repair industry, ranking among the top three largest ship repair yards nationwide and seventh on Clarkson’s global ranking! Every Xinya employee will never forget the company’s founding history. To better appreciate the tremendous changes that have reshaped Xinya over the decades—and to witness the trials and tribulations Xinya has endured throughout its storied journey, as well as the profound sense of responsibility it has left us—our company has organized and launched… “Times change, but our original aspiration remains.” China Xinya 2020 Tibet Trip.

To fully showcase Xinya’s strong sense of cohesion, fighting spirit, and team camaraderie, as well as to highlight the indomitable courage of Xinya people in daring to push beyond their limits, we opted for a self‑driven tour, entering via the Southern Sichuan–Tibet Highway and exiting through the Qinghai–Tibet Highway. The team set off from Chengdu in a convoy of sixteen rugged SUVs, traveling in grand fashion along National Highway 318—lauded by National Geographic China as the most scenic highway spanning the entire length of China—and entered the Tibet Autonomous Region at 7:45 a.m. on October 1, 2020. From there, they continued across National Highway G109 and the G6 Beijing–Lhasa Expressway, following the Qinghai–Tibet Highway to reach Xining, the “Pearl of the Plateau” in Qinghai Province. The entire round-trip route spanned more than 5,000 kilometers, traversing Sichuan, Tibet, and Qinghai provinces and autonomous regions.

The Xinya team overcame a myriad of challenges—including dense fog, extreme temperature fluctuations, traffic jams, poor road conditions, and altitude sickness—climbing one towering mountain after another that soared to heights of 4,000 to 5,000 meters, crossing countless mighty rivers and vast waterways, traversing the vast Maoya Grassland and the desolate, uninhabited region of Kekexili. They reached the Tuotuo River at the source of the Three Rivers, marveled at the majestic grandeur and natural beauty of Hailuogou Glacier Forest Park, Mire Glacier, Ranwu Lake, and the Potala Palace, and conquered the most perilous mountain pass on the Sichuan–Tibet Highway: Jueba Mountain, the 5,231-meter Tanggula Pass, the 72 Bends of the Nujiang River, and the hair‑raising thrills of Tongmai’s treacherous terrain. They hiked through pristine rainforests and the small town of Lulang, known as “Little Switzerland of the East,” experiencing along the way the awe‑inspiring and magnificent scenery of glaciers, snow‑capped peaks, ancient forests, grasslands, and mighty rivers—and savoring the rich, vibrant tapestry of highland culture.

The General Manager personally touched the Hailuogou Glacier, truly experiencing the essence of the ice cap, and led his team in shouting “We are all Xinya people!” atop Dongda Mountain, at an elevation of more than 5,000 meters. Their resounding voices echoed long and loud across the lofty peaks. The mountain road wound endlessly through countless hairpin turns—72 bends, the perilous Tongmai Pass, Luding Bridge, Namtso Lake, Qinghai Lake, Chaka Salt Lake, and many other breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, there were countless scenes that were thrilling, daunting, awe‑inspiring, beautifully serene, majestic, and grand—each one leaving everyone profoundly moved. All were captivated by this irresistible, utterly unique natural charm, reluctant to leave and longing to stay forever.

Although we have conquered towering mountains, crossed countless rivers, and pushed past one challenge after another, For the people of Xinya, there is always a mountain peak before their eyes—we must dare to climb it and keep pushing forward, constantly surpassing ourselves. This has always been the goal that the people of Xinya have pursued and strived for—no difficulty can ever halt Xinya’s forward momentum!

As times change and stars shift, we must never forget our original aspiration. The single character “change” carries sweat, tears, and blood—along with the passage of time and the precious gift of life. More than that, it embodies the unwavering, unrepentant spirit of Xinya people who have weathered storms and hardships, a spirit that drives us to forge ahead with resolute determination in the ship repair industry—and above all, it reflects our steadfast commitment to green ship repair, true to our original intentions. Stay True to Our Original Aspiration: A group of people, a lifetime, one single task—always repairing boats. Assume the Mission: Keep responsibility in your heart, bear it on your shoulders, and put it into practice. Identify the gaps: Identify your own shortcomings, leverage your strengths, and address your weak areas. Implementing with Precision: We must consistently ensure that every task is carried out to the highest standards of quality service.

On October 12, the 17‑day “2020 China Xinya Tibet Expedition” came to a successful and seamless conclusion. At the concluding gala, General Manager Xia Songkang pointed out that this expedition was not only a rigorous physical training program, a test of endurance and perseverance, and a surge of passion, but also a true team-building exercise that put the core managers of Xinya to the test in terms of institutional development, cultural cultivation, execution capabilities, cohesion, and collective unity—measuring how well these elements were truly being implemented in practice. At the same time, it was a powerful exercise in courage: each participant drove across the high plateau, achieving a personal “first” in their lives—and setting five new records for Xinya’s mid‑ and senior‑level core personnel participating in team‑building and training activities: the largest number of participants, the longest duration, the highest altitude, the highest budget, and the most resounding (and strongest) voice of Xinya. General Manager Xia also presented bonuses to the twelve brave warriors who drove over Jueba Mountain—the most perilous stretch along the Sichuan–Tibet Highway—while honoring the two outstanding leaders who guided us through this unforgettable journey to Tibet. In addition, General Manager Xia extended heartfelt birthday wishes—wishes that would be remembered for a lifetime—to an employee who celebrated her birthday during the Tibet expedition, as well as to a representative from one of our partner teams.

The China Xinya 2020 Tibet Expedition fully showcased Xinya’s formidable team strength and its fearless spirit of pushing beyond limits, proving that the Xinya team is a resilient group forged from gold, silver, bronze, and iron—a truly “top-notch” team. It further enriched the spiritual essence of “Xinya Culture,” infusing every Xinya employee with an abundance of positive energy, while embodying the hope of every Xinya individual to strive for excellence, embrace their dreams, and move forward with unwavering determination. This historic milestone was accomplished by China Xinya in 2020. Looking ahead to a bright future, we remain true to our original aspiration and forge ahead with steadfast resolve!
