Sea Fishing in Dongji: Breaking Through the Waves and Setting Sail Once More — Xinya’s 2022 Dongji Sea Fishing Team Building Event
At the Donghai Polar Region, our rendezvous unfolded as scheduled. To strengthen “Xin Culture” and foster team cohesion, while further reinforcing and elevating our spirit of teamwork, more than 30 participants from various departments and work areas embarked on a two-day sea fishing team-building event at the Donghai Polar Region in Zhoushan from July 9 to 10. General Manager Xia Songkang and other headquarters leaders also took part in the XinYa 2022 Dongji Sea Fishing Team‑Building Activity, which specially invited representatives from the internal coordination construction team to join us.
As the saying goes, “The South Pole and the North Pole are far too distant—why not start by taking a stroll around the East Pole?” The East Pole, also known as the Zhongjie Shan Archipelago, is one of the easternmost islands in the Zhoushan Archipelago, comprising 28 islands of varying sizes and 108 reefs. It boasts abundant sea fishing resources and is also the very first place in the new century to be bathed in the first rays of dawn.
The Xinya “Fenjin” sails across the boundless ocean, cutting through the waves as it goes. The color of the seawater along the way constantly shifts, ranging from deep shades to lighter tones, growing ever bluer—sometimes two different hues of water blend seamlessly together, and at times you even see dark, inky waters that stand in stark contrast, creating an utterly marvelous sensation. The ocean’s profound depth and vast expanse help one let go of all worries, leaving the heart feeling open and unburdened.
When the Xinya “Fenjin” arrived at Dongji, it was as if we had entered another world: the sky was a brilliant blue, the clouds were white and fluffy, and the sea was an azure expanse, its surface reflecting the deep, vivid blue of the heavens—creating a dreamlike, otherworldly atmosphere that was so breathtakingly beautiful it nearly broke your heart. The sea shimmered with rippling light, and here and there, schools of fish would leap into the air.
On seas of varying depths, aboard swaying small boats, and atop steep island reefs, General Manager Xia and the headquarters leaders, along with sea fishing enthusiasts, were busy casting and reeling in their lines, cutting leaders and changing baits, filleting fish and drying them into salted fish—shuttling between various fishing spots in the Dongji waters for two consecutive days, thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Although the sun was blazing, no one faltered in the slightest—casting our lines under the azure sky, the nine-foot rods dancing gracefully in the air as small boats chased after schools of fish. The result was a bountiful catch: bluefin herring, yellowfin herring, green sea bream, red sea bream, tigerhead fish, ricefish, and true sea bream all became trophies in our hands. With over 600 jin of various fish, we reaped a truly spectacular harvest. Working is like fishing: as long as you keep casting your line and keep striving, one day you’re bound to reap great rewards.
The Xinya 2022 Dongji Sea Fishing Team Building Event not only tested each of our willpower, physical stamina, and quick reflexes, but also put our passion and hard work to the ultimate test. At the easternmost edge of the sea, we firmly believe that we are all Xinya people who remain true to our original aspirations and forge ahead with unwavering determination. As we embark on the journey toward our next five‑year plan, as long as we continue to hold fast to our dreams and move forward hand in hand, we are sure to achieve even greater success!
