A Dreamy Midsummer: Flowers and Birds Beyond the World. From June 21 to 23, in order to continuously enrich employees’ extracurricular cultural lives, alleviate work-related stress, and further enhance the company’s sense of cohesion as well as employees’ sense of belonging and fulfillment, and guided by the philosophy of “work with joy, live a happy life,” the company organized a sea fishing excursion to Huaniao Island for 30 employees who share a passion for this hobby—under the leadership of General Manager Xia Songkang. Deputy General Manager Shao Bin, Assistant to the General Manager He Fengen, Assistant to the General Manager Wang Junting, and other leaders from headquarters also took part in the sea fishing event.

A single flower holds a world; a single bird, a paradise. With names that evoke poetry and painting, Hua Niao Island lies at the northernmost tip of the Shengsi Archipelago, in the East Sea at 30° North latitude—a beautiful, pristine little island. It earned its name because the island’s shape resembles a seagull spreading its wings as if about to take flight, and because flowers and grasses flourish all over the island. The island is awash in the blue and white hues of the Mediterranean, earning it the nickname “China’s Santorini.” Surrounded by numerous islands and reefs, with crystal‑clear azure waters, Hua Niao Island is an irreplaceable destination in the hearts of sea fishing enthusiasts.

Under the leadership of General Manager Xia, the sea fishing team split into two groups and fanned out across various islands, including Shulanghu Island, Ma Ji Shan in Shengsi, Gouqi, Shengshan, Hua Niao Island, and Dongji. Facing the boundless expanse of the ocean, these sea fishing warriors braved the winds and waves, forging ahead with unwavering courage. The deep, azure sea, the schools of fish darting through the water—surrounded by rocky reefs and dancing in harmony with the crashing waves, the sea fishing team found camaraderie with the rocks and rhythm with the tides. Whether perched atop the reefs, aboard a boat, or along the harbor’s edge, sea fishing enthusiasts showcased their unique skills and talents. General Manager Xia himself took to the rod for a day of sea fishing, while other leaders from headquarters eagerly picked up their rods and cast their lines. Black seabream, rock seabream, tigerhead fish, blueback herring, sea bass, and small hairtail—each lively, wriggling catch became a prized trophy in the hands of the anglers, yielding an abundant harvest. With nearly 300 jin of fresh catch, every sea angler wore a face radiant with joy. All the fish caught on this expedition were processed by the catering team and then distributed free of charge to the employees. Sea fishing is both thrilling and brimming with fun; when you cast your line into the vast ocean, you can never predict what kind of fish will bite next—and just as we never know what type of vessel will bring the next repair order, that moment is always filled with anticipation and hope for the future.

The sea fishing team also visited the “Liujingtan Lighthouse” in Shengsi and the “First Tower of the Far East” on Huaniao Island. Station Chief Liu accompanied everyone on a tour of the “First Tower of the Far East” and shared the fascinating story of this lighthouse, which boasts over 150 years of history.

This sea fishing training exercise on Huaniao Island, which lasted three days and two nights of extended time at sea, not only honed participants’ physical stamina, willpower, and patience, but also allowed them to savor the picturesque coastal scenery along the way and indulge in the delectable flavors of fresh seafood. Dining on a swaying vessel added an entirely unique flavor to the experience. At the same time, participants felt the mighty surge of ocean waves crashing against their faces, enduring the relentless up-and-down motion and turbulent rocking of the sea—truly showcasing the Xinya team’s tenacious fighting spirit, unwavering willpower, and resolute, steadfast character. It embodied the Xinya people’s spirit of hard work, endurance, fearlessness in the face of adversity, and relentless forward momentum.
