Amid the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year and the promise of renewal, over 1,600 employees gathered in the No.1 dining hall of the company on the morning of January 27th for 2024 Annual Summary and Awards Ceremony. The event was graced by Chairman Zhou Yaguo, CEO Xia Songkang, Vice Presidents Fon He, Wang Junting, Zhou Boting, Shao Bin, and CEO Assistant Yu Haigang. 

The ceremony commenced with a spirited chant of “Good, Great, Excellent”, setting the tone for a celebration of achievements and aspirations.  

In his keynote speech, Chairman Zhou Yaguo extended New Year greetings to all employees, praising their dedication and resilience. He particularly commended CEO Xia Songkang and the core leadership of Xinya for delivering an “Economic Report Card” brimming with innovation and value in 2024. Quoting the poem by Du Fu, he declared, “Ascend the summit and behold how small all other peaks appear,” emphasizing that every milestone in 2024—now etched into Xinya’s history—was a testament to overcoming challenges. 

Looking ahead, Chairman Zhou outlined Xinya’s grand blueprint for 2025, urging employees to embrace the journey with unwavering focus: “Every effort counts, every spark of brilliance matters. With pragmatism and perseverance, we will turn our grand vision into reality!” 

CEO Xia Songkang presented a work report titled Hard Work and Responsibility Forge Brilliance; New Chapters Unfold Grand Visions: Pioneering a New Era of Green Ship Repair and High-quality Development. The report highlighted that the year 2024, which has just concluded, was not only a year of deepening the company’s “Fifth Five-Year Plan”, but also a breakthrough year for development, and more importantly, a groundbreaking and epochal milestone in the company’s history. With fresh perspectives, we anchored ourselves at the forefront of fine-tuning ship structures; through innovative thinking, we reshaped development patterns with digital and intelligent empowerment; and via new initiatives, we advanced the “five-dimensional integrated” development philosophy. We forged new paths with courage, seized opportunities through perseverance, and achieved innovative breakthroughs through strategic ingenuity.

Three Historic Breakthroughs:

1. Record-breaking total output value;

2. World-first methanol dual-fuel retrofit for a container ship;

3. Groundbreaking launch of Xintai Offshore Engineering, advancing the development of West Bailian Island.

In his report, CEO Xia summarized and reviewed the achievements of 2024: Xinya Shipyard successfully repaired 500 vessels; achieved substantial results through continuous optimization of product structure, creating multiple historic milestones in Xinya’s ship repair history. These included the first-ever repairs of two overseas LNG carriers, pioneering retrofit of air lubrication systems (air blankets) on container ships, inaugural repairs of three offshore drilling platforms, maiden contract for cable-laying vessel maintenance, groundbreaking repair of the bulbous bow on the world’s largest 24,000 TEU ultra-large container ship, and the first overseas customer appreciation banquet. The shipyard also enhanced digital transformation in repair operations, intensified salary system reforms, implemented seven coordinated measures to advance green ship repair technologies, and established China’s first compliance management system among private enterprises to strengthen international competitiveness... These remarkable milestones have written glorious chapters in Xinya’s development history, embodying both the collective dedication of Xinya people and their spirit of scaling new heights. 

As the auspicious dragon bids farewell to the old year and the wise snake ushers in a new journey, CEO Xia Songkang emphasized that 2025 marks a pivotal year for the company’s Fifth Five-Year Plan. Guided by the strategic vision of “anchoring five-year goals, planning three-year objectives, and executing annual tasks with precision”, while adhering to the corporate development principles of “differentiation, compliance, and premium quality”, the company will: 

- Implement comprehensive safety management with cost efficiency 

- Optimize operations through a “one checklist, two implementations, three initiatives” workflow 

- Strengthen emergency response capabilities 

- Embrace the quintuple work ethic: determination to act, courage to dare, perseverance to endure, ingenuity to innovate, and capability to execute 

- Maintain a spirit of urgency, relentless persistence, and problem-solving resolve 

- Uphold meticulous craftsmanship, refined standards, and perfection-driven attitudes 

The entire staff was called to concentrate efforts, unite hearts and minds, win crucial battles, and vigorously advance high-quality green ship repair development to ensure full completion of 2025 targets. 

Presided over by Vice President Fon He, this ceremony served not only as a comprehensive review of the past year’s achievements and recognition of outstanding contributors, but more importantly as a rallying call for future development. It required all employees to embrace new postures of vitality, combative spirit, and innovation, vigorously promote Xinya’s corporate culture, take exemplary models as benchmarks, reject superficiality and pretense, remain grounded, fulfill duties conscientiously, and collectively pioneer new frontiers in green ship repair development. 

Vice Presidents Wang Junting, Zhou Boting, and Shao Bin, along with CEO Assistant Yu Haigang, respectively announced the commendation documents for 2024 Xinya’s outstanding collectives and individuals, including “Xin Breakthrough Medal”, “Xinya unsung Heroes”, and “Xin Warrior” awards.

During the ceremony, representatives of 2024 honorees including “Xinya Unsung Heroes”, sales champions, Golden Management Excellence Award winners, subcontractors management pioneer teams, and employee’s children scholarship recipients delivered inspiring speeches on stage. Their exemplary sharing will serve as learning models, motivating us to bravely face challenges, strive to be outstanding practitioners and industry leaders, and work diligently to realize Xinya’s brighter future and aspirations.

The ceremony recognized and awarded outstanding collectives and individuals including 2024 Xin Breakthrough Medal recipients, the 6th “Xinya Unsung Heroes”, performance champions, Diligence Awards, Gold/Silver/Bronze Awards for Single Ship Supervisors, Xin Warriors, subcontractors management pioneer teams, and employee’s children scholarship winners. Gold medals, bonuses, and certificates were respectively presented to the awardees.

Hard work forges brilliance, and splendid chapters unfold grand visions. In the new year filled with “Xin” hopes, we will capture every opportunity for success with serpent-like acuity, embracing an even more promising “Xin” future with open arms.
